Mark Hyman, MD writes about his recent online Broken Brain documentary series:
“All medicine can be simplified into a few basic principles and concepts, or natural laws, that explain all disease and suffering.
“These concepts affect our mood, behavior, attention, memory, and overall brain function.”
The Summit concluded in January 2018, but you can follow the links on this page to learn about the recording packages.
Mark Hyman, MD notes in a Facebook post:
Over 100 million Americans struggle with psychiatric disorders. 40 million have anxiety. 20 million are diagnosed with depression.
Is it just bad luck? Or is there something deeper going on in the body that has not been addressed by most practitioners?
If you or someone you love struggles with these illnesses—or with feeling hopeless, sad, or otherwise mentally fragile, you are not alone.
My 8-part docuseries, Broken Brain, featuring health and brain experts, including John Mekrut of The Balanced Brain Neurofeedback Training Center, is your entry to the newest knowledge and cutting-edge tools and protocols.
The World Premiere of Broken Brain runs through January 25th.

In a post on Facebook, Dr. Hyman writes about his personal history:
I was a thriving, young doctor with a promising career ahead of me. Then, within a short amount of time (it felt like it was almost overnight), my entire life changed.
Suddenly, depression and anxiety were constant companions and I had such extreme fatigue I couldn’t even get out of bed some mornings.
What was I supposed to do? Everything I did required optimal brain function. Without a healthy brain, I couldn’t see patients, do research, workout, or connect with loved ones..
I was at a loss. Discovering Functional Medicine and the power of our body to heal saved me from lifelong depression, anxiety, and fatigue.
And this is just my story. Thousands of other patients and many other practitioners have their own story about how Functional Medicine empowered them to take control of their health and treat their mysterious or not so mysterious illnesses.
I know there are many other people out there who are suffering from a brain disorder and cannot seem to find any answers.
This is why I wanted to show the world that there is a possibility of recovering from a broken brain. It all starts with recognizing that our body is an elegantly designed and connected system, not just a bunch of individual parts that have nothing to do with each other.
When it comes to our brains, broken brains can manifest in many different ways, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, and traumatic brain injury.
In my new Broken Brain docuseries, we interviewed over 50 experts—some of the top leaders in our field—including Dr. Terry Wahls, Dr. David Perlmutter, Dr. Frank Lipman, and Dr. Jeffrey Bland.
I’ve compiled that life-transforming information into a powerful new 8-part docuseries.
Autism and brain health
Mark Hyman, MD writes:
We need to revolutionize the way we think about and treat autism.
This is why my team and I created the 8-part Broken Brain docuseries.
This docuseries goes through major brain disorders such as dementia, autism, depression, Alzheimer’s and much, much more; offering a different way to approach disease.
You’ll hear from over 50 experts, including Dr. Martha Herbert of The Autism Revolution, who will share the truth about our brains and how we can achieve optimal brain health.
The Broken Brain docuseries will inform what you absolutely need to know about this epidemic.
The series was free from January 17 to 25, 2018,
